Things are going well
Where I work we finally started taking in fire victims from the Lahaina. for 1 to 1.5 years stay.
Mrs. Mango and I finally came to the conclusion (together) that retirement here on Maui will not be financially viable for us.
We were just hit with just a smidgen under 100% property insurance increase. 100 % x 2 auto insurance increase, special AOAO assessment of nearly $3,000.00 due all to the fires. 1 lime cost $1.40 for reference.
I purchase almost entirely 30% off meats manager sales. dairy and bread 50% (not milk) gasoline for my workhorse is $5.20.
We have been blessed, we know it, living here for 38 wonderful Years. no exaggeration 365 days of the year if you choose t-shirts shorts tennis shoes or Slippa's (flip flops)
Drive down South Kihei road every day, every day bikinis of all types can be seen on the sidewalks and sandy beaches as you drive.
I have 38 Years of friends I will miss deeply. Hawaiians, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipinos, Soman's, Tongan, Marseillaise, whites, blacks, Mexicans, Puerto Rican's, Indonesians, Vietnamese, Church Friends from every denomination. I will, we will be leaving behind thousands of friends, business associates, acquaintances. most likely will never see again.
My palate will long for the diversity of ethnic foods found here and L.O.V.E! Riding my bike when I want to, 90% of the time.
Where I worked for 29 Years i met literally at bare minimum, one human from nearly every Country in the world too numerous to count. all believers in Jesus Christ, Queens, Kings, Princes, Chiefs of police, senators, Congress, United nations ambassadors, Billionaires, bishops, nuns, pastors clergy, layman, Vice Presidents, Doctors lawyers, Chief magistrates, Theologians, cardiologists to Presidents except N.K and Cuba. It has been freaking fantastic. My hope is I can give Mrs. Mango an good retirement.
God has without a doubt blessed us. When I first believed and was reading the bible a verse stuck out. Proverbs 30:7-9 New Century Version Keep me from lying and being dishonest. And don't make me either rich or poor; just give me enough food for each day. If I have too much, I might reject you and say, 'I don't know the LORD. ' If I am poor, I might steal and disgrace the name of my God.
With gratitude I believe He has answered that prayer for me...US
