I got a new one pole tent made that was smaller than my old one so I could set it up by myself since as I have gotten older the old one was too heavy to set up by myself. I cut a new elm sapling to make the pole out of. It wasn't perfectly straight with about a 4 inch bow. I set it up at a rendezvous and after 5 days the four inch bow had turned into a 26 inch bow.I had to put a tent stake in to keep the bottom from kicking out. I'll have to cut down one of my older rain fly poles to make a new pole, Green wood sure bends easily.But the tent did stay up just not as tall!
