I am a novice woodworker and have been away from making anything for several years and would like in put as to how to construct this table and make it look "store bought".

You could use mitred dovetails joints as well. Doing this with a single board would yield the same look as shown and be structurally sound.

It depends on what store you buy it from: target or custom wood place.

There be a few ways you could go about it.

Look up some plans and wood joints to get some ideas for construction

The miter joints sound good. I’d b concerned with sideward pressure on sides.

They are sometimes called a water fall tables there are several videos on You Tube.
the biggest trick is exact 45* angles.
