My uni saw keeps shutting down after about 12-15 minutes. It doesn't matter rather I am cutting heavy stock or 1/4 stock. I have to let it cool down for about fifteen minutes before it will start back up. Does any one have any idea's other than a new motor?

Most Delta motors have a thermal switch that shuts them off when they get too hot. They run again when they cool down. I has delta disc sanders in my school shops and it happened to them sometimes after long heavy use.

Is your blade dull and making the motor work harder?

If there is a lot of dust in the motor slowing down the cooling? Maybe a sop vac or compressor blow out might hellp.

I had 4 delta sanders and unisaws in 4 shops. Only had them thermally shut down on the sandees.

Hope that helps.

Had a similar problem with my Uni. Dust collector failed and too
much dust/sawdust built up in and around the motor. Had to remove
the rear end of the motor and vacuum and blow out the dust. Fixed the
Dust collector and all is well.

Be careful removing the rear cover some parts can come loose, I did
not have to remove any parts just blow them out.

I have already tried cleaning out the motor by vacuming it well. It made no difference. I'll try the air compresser.
