The WoodSampler is an online directory exhibiting some of the World's most popular woods. For now all we have are pictures.The list is divided into the following four categories to enhance your selection of species for any given project. Clicking on the category of choice takes you to a thumbnail directory. Clicking on a species name takes you to a full-sized photo.

Most samples have been finished to some degree or another, usually with a penetrating oil to bring out the natural colors without adding any extra sheen.

As you browse the lists, you'll notice there are some striking omissions. All the pictures you see are from veneer samples or lumber scraps from folks who have taken the time to send us a small piece of wood for scanning. Thank you!
