TV show this morning and for better or worse I got a message from the show. The host was visiting a woodworker who taught classes, writes books and makes wooden items. To paraphrase the message I got, he posited that if you are not sharing, you are contributing to the demise of your craft. Many of us were fortunate to have family that got us interested in woodworking. The craft got passed on. Quite a few of our older members probably had shop classes in school. The craft got passed on. Sadly way too many shop programs have been budgeted out of the schools. We should all be looking for guilds, clubs and associations to join and contribute to, and mentoring opportunities to forge.
