...or yellow. It is a low grade timber with lots of dead knots. It is odourless, and having a clean hard surface it is very suitable for shelving.
What is it?
BTW, the statement above was written in 1901 - a few years before the general availability of, well seasoned, old-growth MDF

Im thinking Pine would not be classified as odorless.
Soo I'm thinking birch, but Im not sure about the loose knot bit, but still
lets say Birch....
