feather.... yada..yada. This is a list 6 years old but I bet most of the groups are still active one way or another. Woodworking guilds(clubs) are an association of folks with a similar interest at many different levels. They are a great way to meet folks and “talk shop”. Check out the list for your state and see if it is close enough to go to or find a contact person who may know of a fellow wooodworker in the forest near you.... except for Kansas I don’t know if they have forests there

A few days ago in the scrap pile there was a post about a map of lumber stores. A few of our brothers added their favorite lumber yards. All the yards on that map might be a good source for other woodworkers to meet.

I'll have you know that we in Kansas are very proud of both of our trees. We may not have a forest exactly but, we are not totally barren either.
We can watch our dog run away for a week and I'll bet you can't !
LOL :)

RAPID ROGER: Would you consider building fences around those two trees? I understand that puppies like to mark their territory on prominent items in the landscape and fencing those two trees off might help their growth potential. I am surprised that Kansas does in fact have very robust forested areas with quite a variety of trees.

Then again you don’t find a lot of wheat fields (Kansas size) in say Maine or Pennsylvania and a really wide horizon line is awesome especially at sunrise and sunset.
