I have been dealing with Maryland Select Hardwoods for years. Dennis is only 15 minutes from me and his prices are great.

I have used Downes & Reader in Stoughton, Ma. They have a terrific variety of wood, domestic and foreign.

Windsor Plywood in Bellingham WA is the nearest source of some decent, but limited hardwoods for me here in Mt Vernon WA. If I'm looking for really out of this world stuff I can brave it and drive into Seattle to EdenSaw or Crosscut hardwoods. Of course, to make a real day of it I'll ferry across the sound to Pt Townsend to the EdenSaw warehouse there.

Here in Mt Vernon the access to decent hardwoods isn't very. Mt Vernon Bldg. Supply has a bit but it's usually cherry picked by the time I get to it leaving me with the culls.
