replace and just a little time and effort will save you big bucks. Forstner bits can be intimidating to sharpen but it's just a matter of technique and time. Here is some help and some ideas on sharpening them

As with many things a little attention a lot of the time rather than playing catch up is usually a good idea. :wink: The tips at the page bottom deserve a look, maybe they'll help you.

Pretty neat! I like the blocks he made to hold it in the vice too...

I've touched up forstner bits with with a 4-1/2" hand grinder and a cut-off wheel before, but it was quick and dirty and I didn't even try to do the peripheral blade. But it did work better when I was done.

I like that vid at the end, he made it look pretty easy.... but I would still remove the burr...
