Hey Ron,

Well welcome to the old farts club kid, glad to have you aboard. :D

Folks occasionally ask me how I'm enjoying retired life, I keep wondering if it's a trick question.

Cheers,
Tom

Its gonna be strange, but I got my shop set up, got a lot of projects to do. Since Ive been gone so much (2088-june this year) I ve only been in the country about 3 years and not at the same time, so Ive started connecting with old friends and family members I haven't seen in what seems like forever.

I feel good about the retirement. Im ready to join the Old Guys Rule Club :>D

Don't expect to have any free time! I find I'm much busier than I ever was before I retired.

I've only been retired for 11 years but I can tell you, it is NOT hard to get used to. :)
Even if you are busier than you were when you worked, at least you can set your own speed and hours. The really nice thing about that is....."There is always tomorrow". :)

Congrats & Welcome, Ron! It is certainly a different life. And the freedom to be busy or not is really the freedom to GIVE yourself to life rather than sell it. Little better than ten years and I've settled in to sleeping late... 7:30 or 8:00 ....staying up late.... 12 or 1:00 and SPENDING my time on the things that MaTTer...like...loved ones' joy....travel. Glad you're joining us!! Please let us share your experience.

Don

ive been busier retired then Ive ever was working. Ive just like when I had a job been having to make tome to woodwork. Though I did take pretty kool staining and finishing class Sat . I learned a lot and got a lot more confident in finishing techniques, toning, glazing etc. So Im learning and thats was a goal I had for retirement

Way to go, Ron! I thought I had retired from Verizon almost 16 years ago, but I've been working at Waldorf Ford as a D/X driver since Jan. 2. I drive new cars all over the place, usually to and from other dealers. I love it! Last week I was in Connecticut! And I'm back into woodworking with a vengeance! Enjoy yourself, my Friend!
