ultimate sin. Build a new project with softwood? Well WHY NOT!! Soft wood IS wood after all and we do call it woodwork. Just as with other "woods", softwood have their own challenges. LIke oily teak or dusty spalted maple or gnarly elm. Deal with it!

I have made a few things of southern yellow pine, it can be very beautiful.

If you use an oil it has a wonderful warm colour.
It is hard to find around here with out paying through the nose or it is pressure treated.
