There is some take away from these articles, buy only the tools you need, buy the best quality you can afford at the time, sample a cheap tool to see if it's type needs to be in your kit, pay particular attention to sharpening and honeing the edges of your tools.
My local PBS station had an episode of THE WOODWRIGHTS SHOP today which featured MARY MAY carving cookie molds. It appeared that she only used 4 or maybe 5 different chisels and in a TV half hour executed a finished cookie mold. She is a teacher and an excellent carver with tons of experience but she didn't have a wall full of chisels and the cutting edges sparkled in the studio lights.
