I know there are a lot of kits available depending on how much of yourself you want to put into the project. I know absolutely nothing about building guitars but here's one source that has at least one 5 star review:

https://www.jsbguitars.com/shop/guitar- ... -mold-kit/

Something like this might be a bit of a challenge, though:

Just kidding.

Keep us posted on your progress. I really admire people with the patience and skill to make something like a guitar.

This is something I have wanted to do for over a decade now and have only begun in fits and starts. However, this is a superb resource- Guitarmaking: Tradition & Technology: A Complete Reference for the Design & Construction of the Steel-String Folk Guitar and the Classical Guitar by William R. Cumpiano and Jonathan Natelson. They cover everything you need to know to build either a classical or steel string guitar.

Aaron,
I know San Marcos is a long way from Sacramento but it's a great woodworking school....and the guitar making class is second to none!
