Fairly simple project. Assemble entire railing and finish with stain & Spar varnish, making sure all the angles and other dimensions are correct, then screw it to the bricks with 2" long masonry screws.

Looks great Gene.
Is it pretty stable? Any wobble?

Solid as a rock. Stability/strength was a major consideration. Much better than the usual decorative railings from a bigbox store. Ballisters are 1 1/2" square glued and screwed to the bottom of the handrail (which is actually a 2 piece assembly) and the lower board (which is screwed to the brickwork along it's length).

How long do you reckon it'll hold up in the weather ? I'd be using metal (sorry) in that application. :-)
...lew... Of course I work in both materials. :-)

Quite a few years, as long as the finish is refreshed periodically.
