"You're going to buy it anyway, aren't you?"

"It is on sale", I said.

"Well then, Merry Christmas", she said.

So now I have a place for (nearly) all my clamps. :-)

Happy Holidays everyone!
Tom

very nice. The only problem I foresee is that instead of your clamp storage being in the way in one place, now they can be in the way everywhere in the shop :-)

Hey Dennis,

Don't you usually buy someone a drink before you say that?

Hey drstrip,

Actually, the problem is as you first stated, now my clamps are in the way, wherever I put them. Before, they were spread about the shop is multiple locations; inconvenient, but also out of the way. I am going to have to make some adjustments. One thing I can share is that although the casters move smoothly and easily over the concrete, they don't move easily over the anti fatigue mats. Larger wheels might help, but there is a lot of weight there. Fortunately, I have left hard floor isle ways that reach all areas of the shop for just that reason.

Cheers,
Tom

I didn't think that remark would go unnoticed!

When I first built my shop I made a clamp rack, nothing as fancy as yours, but the intent was the same. With the same result. I was constantly moving it out of the way for one project then the next. I eventually built clamp racks on the wall where, provided I remember to put them away, they're not just out of the way but where I can find them. As I remember your shop, you've about used up all the wall space so that's proberly not an option for you.

Tom.....nice wife!!

re the rack: If you are anything at all like a lot of us (I didn't want to highlight myself alone as the only slob), you will soon use and leave clamps all over your shop which will create noticeable vacances in your clamp rack which you will then have to fill with new clamps (no one ever had too many clamps) ad infinitum. It's all a plot to be able too buy more clamps isn't it??? Good thinking. The wife will never figure that out????? Right. lol ;^))

But now you'll miss all the fun of standing them in the corner and having them fall all the time!

Nice Score TMS!

Interestingly, I almost asked about the casters, specifically whether they were big enough. My experience is that no vendor puts large enough casters on their products, no doubt to save a couple of bucks. I get infuriated that my aged Craftsman shop vac can't roll over its own power cord without tipping over. That seems downright stupid.
