Hey folks,
Wednesday, 7/13, my wife Jo lost her battle with Leukemia. About half way through her stay in the rehab center, her oncologist confirmed that it had come back again and they were just out of ammo to throw at it. At that time, he'd given her 1 to 3 weeks. That was 2 1/2 months ago. She stayed in rehab as long as she could and finally came home on 6/24. We continued with her PT/OT through an in home nursing service. This allowed her to keep up with her exercising and helped to keep her mind off the inevitable conclusion. She was happy being at home with me and Lily and enjoyed being pampered.

I have no idea yet, what comes next for me. I've spent the first half of this year so focused on today that I have no concept of tomorrow, next week or next year. I don't even know if I'll stay in CO or move somewhere else. I've been out of my industry for so long, I seriously doubt I'll even be able to find work in drafting or design, much less be able to teach it. The one thing I do know is that I'll keep putting one foot in front of the other and worry about a destination when I get there.

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. They have really helped us through the years with this fight.

ICE PIRATE: Only words. Cherish all you can remember, smooth and rough because they were the fabric of your life together. Life only has one victor, but many heroes who fought the good fight and finally tasted that victory. The mission now is to adapt, overcome and move forward always keeping in mind the example of the hero you knew so well. Accepting the challenges that will arise is honoring and respecting the hero who has given the example.

Very sorry to hear that. I know that you guys have been fighting that battle for a long time.
Well, it is over now and Jo isn't suffering any longer but, about all you can do now is keep on keeping on. I will be thinking about you and your future.
I went through something like that with a very close friend a few years ago. We both knew the end was near and there was nothing that could be done. He finally just made the decision that there would be no more operations and I had to support his decision.
Still miss that old SOB.
Keep us informed on how you are doing and where you are.

I am so sorry. My little sister passed from Leukemia in 1991 (age 21), so I can really relate to you right now.

My thoughts and prayers, will be ongoing.

Take care of yourself, ok?

Try to stay positive and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Make no decisions for a year and then take you time.

This is a rough time and you will move on.

Prayers
Duan

Frank, you have my deepest sympathy for the loss of your Dearest Jo and highest hopes for the strength you've shown us to be focused on building the life she would want you to enjoy.
MANY of us here are depending on your continued participation with our small caringcommunity

Frank,
I have a hard time trying to come up with words that will help but I didn't want to remain silent.
I'm thinking about you.

I've been reading the messages here, Frank, waiting for the right words to come to me to express my deepest sympathy and regards. "I'm so sorry for your loss" seems terribly shallow. But it's about the best I can do.

Just know that you're in our thoughts and on our minds; you don't grieve alone, my friend.

frank,

I don't have the words to express what Im feeling right now.

Ive held her and you in my daily prayers since I found out she was sick.

About the only thing I can say is the Good Lord will direct your path my friend.

Even if its to stay put and not go anywhere. Just ask him and will lead you.

I pray now that he comforts you and grants you peace.

Thank you all for your kind words and respects. I'm in the process of picking up the pieces, consolidating what I can and also just trying to take some down time to get my head straight. I'm planning a series of small part day vacations, like to the range and to enjoy a little boat time. I've been so focused on Jo's health for the past several years, that I really haven't taken much time to relax and unwind. I'm even going to try to get back in the shop within the next month or so. Of course, I have to get in there and clean it up first. It's really a mess right now and half full of stuff taken from the WY house when it flooded. Mostly right now, I'm making trips to Goodwill. I'll be back in the shop before long and I've got a dozen or so projects that have been in the wings. So you'll see more of me I'm sure.

Hey Frank,

I just read about Jo, and I too am at a loss for a way to express my sorrow and sympathy. Please remember to take care of yourself and stay connected with your friends here, we're all pulling for you.

Cheers,
Tom

So sorry to see this Frank, hoping for nothing but the best for you.
I don't post much anymore but stop by once in awhile to see what is going on.
Hugs and prayers.

Vicki
