Mine is to take another woodworking class. The 2 Im looking at (Im only taking one) is a 5 day drawer making /hand dove tail class by Peter Sefton . Another is a basic 9 day hand tool class making different projects by Paul Sellers. Paul doesn't have his schedule up yet. But if he does Im gonna jump on it. Hope he does soon.

Anyway whats yours?

I'm starting out the year busy. I have a backlog of five cannon carriages I have to get done.
Life is good! :D

Celebrate 2017.

Along the way I have some bookcases to make for the girls, some large hard maple to make into bowls, and a bunch of human-power edge tools to practice getting closer to the wood than the tablesaw.

Well, I've got two major projects remaining on this house retrofit: Rebuild the back deck & stairs; re-do the downstairs bathroom. Beyond that I've left a ton of little detail projects that need to be addressed. A bit of trim here, some there, stuff that seems to just hang around in the shadows. One task I'm not looking forward to is tidying up the low voltage wiring closet. After we had the old bank of latching relays replaced the electrician left something of a snarl of low voltage wiring around the cabinet. This will take a lot of trial and error to sort out all the switch circuits.

For diversionary work I hope this summer to finally find some quality time making shavings at the lathe. So many ideas for things to make I don't know where to start.

Anyone know where I can pick up a good time machine and turn back the clock a few years? I'm getting tired just thinking about it all.

To reach 2017 and maybe finish the work in the kitchen, but I might be overreaching on that one. :D

I have a backlog of turning just for fun.

I also want to try and take one day each week and do nothing the entire day.
Did that one day while visiting my sister during Christmas. Spent the entire day in my pj's and read 2 books. It was
a wonderful day.

As far as projects go, Ive been starting to get into restoring/ refinishing/ repairing furniture as well as making some small projects.

I just finished putting a second coat of oil on a old coffee table . The top is made from English Oak. It came out pretty nice. The base was difficult for me but I think it came out good. It had a lot of hard to reach places.

But thats been something that I really enjoy and would like to continue doing those type of work.

Hope to finish some of the many projects I have started and didn't finish. Sometimes I look around and feel ashamed for not finishing some of these things!

I plan to build my first true workbench. Started on it over the weekend and will post some pics whenever I get it finished.
