So after finaly getting the first drawer done and functioning so-so. I thought I would continue and do the rest of them. I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be as difficult as it was. Crawling into those spaces to attach the slides and get them level and square was pure torture, I worked on them for days, then it was a week, then two and finaly they are all done including the two not shown on the bottom, they were the most difficult. No fronts yet still haven't decided what to make.

This is where I will be working next. But I won't do it the same way, I am going to remove the face frame, build a box, attach the slides, make the drawers, slide the box into place, make a new face frame. I may even go back and redo the first ones if the box idea works, I think it will.

I feel your pain, Paul. BeenThere...done that. When I put the drawers in my workbench I struggled as you described and, although the full extension slides are nice.....I'm not sure the extra 2 inches is really worth all that finicky work. The next project requiring drawers was a sideboard for my daughter. I built boxes with dadoes in the sides and 3/8" rails. They work perfectly and really limit access very little to the back of the drawer. That was about 6 years ago and they still have a piston fit and no sticking.
Keep us posted!
good luck,

Don
