I needed to deconstruct a small cabinet the other day, and had some vague memory that the Jet parallel clamps (similar to Bessey K's -- they co-exist on my clamp rack) could be reversed, so I tried to reverse the foot. Not only was I unable to get it to go on in reverse, I couldn't get it back on in normal orientation. Is there a trick that escapes memory? If it's still disabled in June, I'll bring it to the pig roast.

Hi, Ron! It's good to see you "here" too! I have to get in the habit of checking the board every couple of nights. In the middle of a MASSIVE clean-up project while hubby is gone and can't say "no" I guess there are no clamp experts hanging out, will have to take it to the pig roast and see if Tom or Dennis can help.

FG,
I think if you were more specific as to the type of joinery the cab is held together with, we could give some suggestions. The clamps may not be the best way to go.

I don't know about the new clamps, all mines are old style K body that can't be reversed.

Can you post a photo, Jamie, to give an idea of the geometry of the clamp? I don't own any like you describe.

Ron, the cabinet is just pieces now (I took a saw and a mallet to it  ). Saved the drawers, will use the rest for kindling. Thanks though!

Dennis, how 'bout I just bring it to the pig roast? I have to get set up with photobucket or something for photos here (in the old days, I had an FTP site that I used). There are plenty of clamps to fall back on, and I'm focused right now on reclaiming the shop and tools so there can be some sawdust in my life! Who knows, I may be wrong about those clamps being reversible. Will look them up tonight.

No prob'. The more eyes available at the pig-feed, the better.
