I have a 94 Mark 8 that is in near mint condition, so it is on a salt free diet.
It has been seting for over 4 months, I dcided to start it up today well it started up first time around.
Rember the old cars with carbs if they set for a week they were hard start.
I will probably be at least a month before we will be driving it arround.

Carburetors - a device that required constant spraying, adjusting, fuel ratio screws, choke adjusting, varnishing, float adjusting, rebuilding usually prefixed with cussing..................yes I remember!

Well,that is all very true BUT, if you didn't add some gas stabilizer to the tank before and, the gas gets old and sour enough, it ain't going to start one of these days. And cleaning fuel injectors isn't any cheaper than cleaning a carbonator.

The thing I like most about FI is in the winter, the car starts much easier and you don't run the battery down cranking the engine.
Remember being late to work in the old days "Cause the D@#$ car wouldn't start" ?..... Well now that I think about it, maybe that wasn't so bad after all.

RR is correct. I wonder how much gas is in that tank and if it's worth draining and starting fresh?
I know with boats, old fuel is usually not a good thing.

On a side note, I noticed most of my most recent battery failures have occurred in the heat of summer, compared to years ago when I found they mostly died in the winter. No scientific data here, just my hunch?

You can use the accelerator pump to get gas into the carb. Had an old gas/carb ambulance vehicle we were finally forced to replace with diesel, and a note spanning the steering wheel for those raised on injectors that said "pump accelerator twice before turning the key." We had to explain flooding recovery, because the younger members would not press the pedal to the floor while cranking under any circumstances. Price was right, which is how we got it at all. One dollar, one ambulance, when buying from Uncle Sam.

There were times (thankfully) the rig would sit in garage for weeks without use.

In an earlier life, made a lot of coin rebuilding them, adding a few of my own touches.
I for one would like to see them again, I could control how they worked, didn't need a computer degree to work on them as you do now.
