Thanks, Gene. I'll check them out after dinner and clean up.
One of the last things Daddy gave me was his collection of the Marines and his Korea books. I have most of them in my teardrop for reading in the evening and during cold or wet weather. I've read one of the Korea books and it was very eye-opening of what Daddy, as a 20 year old young man went through. He never talked about it when I was growing up, but as the years went by, he talked more and more about it.
It was strange that he became a 20 year old Marine again, bypassing over 60 years of his life, when he had to go to the nursing home. He patrolled the halls, tried to rescue a nurse who he thought was a POW along with himself (he never was a POW, but I'm sure he worried about it at the Chosin Reservoir), he kept looking for General MacArthur because he had a written/typed message for him (that really happened on the ship bound for Korea), and many other incidents. I guess it was either the most important part of his life, or the most influential part of his life, and he relived it for the 7 weeks he was in the nursing home.
