Anybody know anything about routers? I bought a Linksys E2500 router, a Toshiba laptop, and a new Epson WF-2530 wi-fi printer a couple days ago. The router is sitting on the top shelf of my desk and plugged into the dsl modem and my desktop pc. Everything works as advertised (good signal on the printer, and the new Toshiba), but now I get some RF interference on destop pc speakers. Is this normal? It's as far away from everything as the wiring will allow- about 3ft or a little less.

hahahahahaha!

I thought you were referring to like a CNC router setup! Silly me.

I've got an Asus WiFi router setup here with no RF interference I've noticed. Sorry I can't help woith your problem.

Unfortunately its pretty common and the funny thing is a lot of time just turning them a few degrees or moving them just an inch or 2 may temporarily alleviate it. Sometimes if you can put an RF choke on the speaker's power and audio lines it will solve it or at least reduce it to acceptable levels, but more than likely its the speaker itself acting as the "antenna"
Also make sure your cordless phone is not near they can also create interference.

Thanks, I'll try out your suggestions. Never had a problem with the phone being close tho.

For all computer problems my first course of action is to ask any of the kids at the middle school where I sub, or as a last resort the high school. Every time I sub for one of the computer classes the kids teach me a lot!
