Hey Folks,

Here's a new one for you. If you've been following my recent adventures, then you might know what a 'Swedish banjo' is.

If so, let everyone else in on it, but if not, don't bother with Wikipedia, or Google, because you probably won't find it there.

Tom

I believe it was your father's saw, probably a bow saw.

Is it the one man tree felling saw you still have hanging in your shop?
The one your grandpa used?

Tom, thanks for flying the flag over here too, I have dropped the ball, but will try to get going again..... You know what they say about good intentions

The one you have was your grandfathers firewood-cutting saw. Keeps warm during the Winter along with your stove as I recall.

I agree it was your Grandfathers saw. And cutting firewood warms you twice.

Hey Eric,

I think that you are referring to this saw, which was Granddad's "misery whip". He was a bucker, not a feller, and you're correct that it was a one man saw, used with one handle. He swapped ends when it got dull in one direction.

And the points go to...

Calebmil !!! :D (I'll give half to John Boy)

Not so soggy today, as the rain has stopped, for now.

Here is Granddad's 'Swedish banjo', his firewood saw.

It's a Sandvik bow saw, and Granddad was able to pass on a spare blade as well. It still works, but I prefer my 'electric Swede'. :D
