You are going to wedge it at the bottom, or a "foxed mortice and tenon joint"

I've done that but, it was an accident so, I just said that it was for glue squeeze-out. :D

Dratts Eric beat me to the draw!

Can't say I've ever tried it ... get the angles wrong and you've got a tenon which won't sit down on it's shoulders but won't come out!
