I downloaded Thunderbird, but all I can get are some old emails from last year. How can I get my new emails?

Thanks in advance.

Did you run the setup wizard?

Yeah, I did, Jess, but it won't accept my password. Is there any way to find out what the password is?

Sounds like your email server is asking for a password before allowing access to your mail. If that is the case, and you don't remember the password, the simplest solution is to call your server support and let them walk you through the setup. This is a common problem and they are use to such calls. I just had the same problem with Carroll's new computer. I called Clearwire Support (our server), and had email working in about five minutes.

Thunderbird remembers passwords, but if you are just starting to use it, it will not have the passwords of your previous email. (In Thunderbird, click Tools/Options/Security/Passwords.) Firefox also remembers passwords and if you use it, it might be worth looking there. (In Firefox, Tools/Options/Security/Passwords.)
