I will not answer the question because I did have to go to the Internet to find out what a "Donkey's Ear" was.

Isn't it a form of shooting board for working with miters? I seem to remember a demonstrator at our local woodworking store mentioning them. I can't remember what distinguishes them from other shooting boards or how they are used though.

Like Chuck I had to look it up. But how does it differ from just a shooting board?

Dennis,

As I read the explanation a shooting board is at 90º while a donkey ear is at 45º. I am not sure if other degree boards (IE 22.5º) are considered donkey ears also. I am awaiting wiser heads to advise me of this.
