I strangle the bratty little neighbor kid for stomping on my garden?

I'm working out of my home office when I look outside and see the neighbor kid stomping on my little rosemary plant.

I've been wondering why it wasn't growing and have been waiting for it to grow some I can put it to some tasty use.

Then I look out the window and he is mashing the entire plant to the ground with his foot.

So, what's the verdict? Could I get away with it??

Only if you plant him under the rosemary. That ought to make it grow.

You know what punji stakes are, right? Seriously tho, I'd take it up with parents. The kid obviously needs some guidance.

My sign in is not working, so I am on gg's log in. Wayne

If that was my garden, that child and I would be walking to the parents, and showing them what he has done.

The alternative is to put up a privacy fence, which I have done. Not cheap if you hire it out, saves a lot if you can do the work yourself, me, don't have the stamina anymore.

Wayne

BTW, Gene, your idea is great, but, don't soak the sticks in feces.

Incredible, isn't it? Put up fences and signs to keep people who already know it isn't their property off of it.

Betting a trip to the parents will have them blaming you for what the legals call "an attractive nuisance." That's what makes you liable if the kid climbs on your shed, falls and breaks his clavicle.

Now that sure hilights a difference between rural and suburban life. Around here, folks put up fences to keep their livestock on their property. In suburbia, people put up fences to keep other people and their livestock off. Completely opposing views of who is responsible for what.

Plant him under the rosemary?! Hmmmmm

Probably would grow, but may turn the taste bitter.

I did go out and scold him. He turned to see if his parents were watching. Hopefully he got the message.

The truth of the matter is I live in a neighborhood that has restrictive covenants. It regulates fences, trees and strangling bratty neighbor kids. Oh well.

If the kid is a little repeat terror and the parents are wack jobs, not much you can do. On the other hand if the kid just did a stupid thing and the parents are decent people they would want to know and it could be a great learning experience.

I like Reelinron's approach. At least then you know where you stand before the next infraction!

Good luck with keeping pests out of your garden!

I can't believe you're asking. This is Texas. Of course it's OK.

Can't you just call a nurse? :-)

I'd talk with the parents... keep the little bugger on his property...

Time for this one to go bye bye, at least in my humble opinion.
