On my way out the door for work this morning, I hear the little voice in my head that said 'psst, take your charger for the Cannon with you'.
(There's an inverter in the van)

Naaah, I say... I've got Plenty of charge left...

fast forward to noon... an hour and a half travel time away from home...

push button on camera... nothing.

ratzlefrazzin!

I feel for ya' brother. Been down that lonesome road before. That's why I always keep a spare battery in my kit these days. Try these guys out:

ultimately I have a zero cost option... put the charger in the VAN...

however, despite it being a sunny bright day, I will just soldier forth and collect data, pretending that it is raining. I can always come back and plug in photos later on.

I use the Eveready rechargeable batteries with the recharger that plugs into the cigarette lighter. The whole recharger and cord is jammed into my camera case. So, when I take my camera, I have the recharger with me.

Yeah, a spare battery would be a good thing... wonder if my boss would approve it.

um, nope, charger going in the van where I have power.

When we replaced our camera, we bought a Canon that takes AA batteries. We use rechargeables but it's nice to know that you can get a battery in a pinch when you need it.

Fortunately... I have to put up with an EOS 5DII, which means Lithium dedicated form batteries. It's SUCH a burden, I know, but it is the company issued camera, so I'm pretty well stuck with it.
