ok, had some shop time and wanted to try some solid wood boards.
here we go, all boards are book matched wood and drumsanded until I had perfect flex in the boards at my 175 pounds, they are nice and solid with just enough flex.

first board, mahogany 48" long, wheel wells, cindrich trucks but will end up with indy hybrids and axle extensions

next one is cocobolo, 62" long, about 9.5" wide original S10's and they'll stay on it, carves like a dream

and the last one is mahogany, 65" long, indy hybrids with SZ 40mm axle extensions

and here just a few of my quiver I acquired since november
I still have a zebra wood board that'll be about 45" long but I need some fibreglass and copper to finish it. all boards will get a few narrow strips of grip, either tread tex/poly, glass glitter/poly or even monster paint traction, I'll see which ones looks best since they won't need tons of grip

thank you for looking, and sorry for all those pics

Sascha,

For me those would be..... "How to break your neck in one easy lesson"! :) :-D :D

What a beautiful job. I love the book marked wood. What is the finish? You have made the grain pop!

general finishes, just the typical stuff, but they will receive a few stripes of a spray on grip, probably 2 one inch lines or so per deck.

thank you Chuck

Hello Sacsha!

Wow, you pop in and blow everyone away!

Glad you are getting some woodworking time in.

How are the Pooches?

I wish I could ride boards, but skiing was the only thing close that I could manage...

Again great to see you around here again!

eric

how ya doin' Eric. Yeah, I still get shop time, but not as much.
I have 3 dogs now, I rescued one the day he was meant to be put down, and he is only 18 months old, cute little bugger.

I just started longboarding in november because of my dogs, so I can take them for really long walks and not get bored.

I just wish i had more time to stay in touch, but I am spending much time on my mission to rescue animals.

so glad to see some of the old faces. hope all you guys are well and I miss y'all.

thanx for the kind words

Wow, those are sweet. It would break my heart to stand on one and ruin the finish. I guess I would get over it

I just made them for fun, but a friend has some wood coming from Hawaii and I'll build a few. they are not that hard to make but a ton of fun to ride

Good to see you around. I don't know how you find time to create such good looking projects, care for the dogs and work-work. Keep it going.

Stunning work, I really love the cocobolo. You never cease to amaze me with both your energy and artistry in life, woodwork, photography. Great work with the pups as well.

Sascha....Very Nice work! I'd hate to take my grungy skate board shoes and stomp all over that beautiful wood. But then again, I might likely kill myself even trying to skateboard. The last skateboard I rode was in 1966 on a piece of plywood and the metal wheels off my sisters roller-skates...very exhilerating... Really nice work Sascha

All the Best,
Bruce

hahaha, thank you
yesterday I sprayed a few lines of clear grip and tomorrow they are good to go. I tried them already, but now with grip, I can go a bit more nuts

They all look too good to ride!

I did long boards quite a while ago, and general thrash and grind, but can't even ook at them now with out a shiver of what would happen if I were to fall now.

Fantastic work and I am sure they would be a great seller at any skateboarding and X-sports type market!

Sascha, pretty looking boards! Your work is always nice!

As with Wolfsdenwood they make me think of much road rash and broken bones.

I can think of one wreck where I could have used one of your boards. 45mph on a trick board, shorts, Tshirt, sneakers... Trip to the emergency room... Got a bite stick and a pillow for when they scrubbed the gravel out of me.

So tell your pup to keep it under 45! :D
