Progress is looking good!

Wax paper on scrap for alignment ... nice tip for those watching at home.

Are you just whining, or are you looking for some help? :D

You know, I learn something new everyday in woodworking. My feeble brain never conceived of the idea of using two pieces and dadoes to make sockets for the tenons rather than trying to cut perfectly straight, deep mortises. And using a scrap wrapped in waxed paper is just as clever.

Thanks for sharing the pictures; that's gonna be a great looking table.

I hate to be the one to tell you this but your table top is going to split.

By making the mortises fit the tenons in the breadboard ends you did not allow for movement of the top boards.

To fix this you should make the OUTER 2 tenons on each side (4 on each end) narrower by about 1/8" on each side of the tenon and leave the center tenons alone. DO NOT glue the outer tenons - only glue the center ones. Peg the tenons from underneath with blind pegs. The outer tenons should have the peg holes elongated as well. Do not elongate the peg holes in the center tenons.

not much whining here unless there is cheese involved too. I also am aware of the splitting. The guys at Woodcraft warned me about that. Glue only the center tenon and make the others smaller. Right now that is the loosest fit. The pattern of this thing is changing all the time so the tenons might come off and another design might take its place. Don't know yet and won't be home for a week so I have time to ponder it.
