John Lucas
Woodworker
Website Host - Woodshopdemos
Passed away February 22, 2010
Some thought John's passion was for woodworking; John's passion was to inspire the woodworker in all of us by giving us the instruction and confidence to tackle a project, to learn a new skill and to craft a piece that we could enjoy for years to come. John will be missed by many.

I am sorry to check in and fill you in on this news. I know he counted you among his friends. My sympathy go out to Sandy, John's wife and his children and his grandchildren. A memorial service will be held later this spring.

John was a wonderful man with a quick sense of humor and loads of advice. He will be missed, but his legacy will be here for a long time. My prayers are with his family.

I hope there is room at Central for John to be with Louis Frank and Danny.
He was a member since 1999 and his "how to" information is/was a valuable resource for many of us.

Hey Gail,

John was a welcome presence here and will be sorely missed. His kindly and insightful advice was always offered from first hand experience, and although authoritative, was never condescending.

Another one I will miss sorely.

He was a great teacher and an inspiring woodworker.

John, rest in peace, we know you are in a better place.

Thanks Gail for bringing this to our attention.

I read this post with great, great, sadness. John was one of the first to greet me on this forum-- as others have mentioned, he will be missed greatly

What a shame, a really good person and teacher and an inspiration to all of us. I always enjoyed the many tutorials on his web site.

Gail,

I haven't been around here much recently and decided to check in today. Your post was right on top.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be remembered by many for his wonderful contribution to woodworking.

I'm in a state of shock. He was such an integral part of the WWA.

Thanks, Gail. Please convey my condolences to his family and all the people he taught, especially yourself. And, like Don says, please stop by on occasion.
