We have a new Contest Central section. The project for the first quarter of 2010 is an ambitious project that we hope would help get yourself, your LOYL, your children or your grandchildren involved in a project together. Now, while you may think that the Popsicle Stick project is just too simple, when was the last time YOU tried to put together a super-dooper popsicle stick project????

Look really close at the Adirondack chair that Verna's neighbor made--edge gluing, mortise and tenon (well, sort of anyway), thickness gluing, sanding, cutting with a coping saw. This is right up the alley of some of the "no power tools" members out there. And for all of you in the "FROZEN TUNDRA", you may start thinking of Spring and the workshop.

And, how many other projects can be made with an investment of under $10 for the 500 popsicle sticks????? This contest shouldn't break the bank. And, I'll bet you already have some glue in your workshop (or maybe in your house so it won't freeze in your cold workshop).

We know that there are some very creative members out there. We want you to tap into that creativity and show want you can do!!

To date, we have three contestants. One has even started on his second project--he's competing against himself  !!!! Does anyone else want to see who gets bragging rights for the first 2010 Contest????

PoolQ and others,

Contest Central not being visible to all was an error on my part (can I blame it on inexperience? ).

It will be fixed for the next contest.

OK, Guys and Girls.......we have 28 days left for you to make something out of Popsicle Sticks (a.k.a. Craft Sticks).

We really would love it if you were able to involve your children, grandkids, shop helpers, or neighbor's kids, but hey, we'd love it if you make a project by yourself, too . This is a fun project, and we're really looking forward to having a bunch of entries.

It's not too late to start. Just send Chance or I a PM, or an e-mail, or just post here, or in Contest Central, to say you want to enter.

Verna

We now have one week (and 1 day) to go in the 1st quarter contest. I believe that we have 5 contestants so far. This is just a friendly reminder that you can still enter and not to forget to get your entries to me before the deadline.

I am also asking for suggestions for the next contest. It will start on April 1, so get those brain cells going.

THANKS!

Good afternoon.
We have just a little over 24 hours to the deadline for our 1st quarter contest. I've received a few entries and am expecting more.

Also, for the 2nd quarter contest: Think grapes.

Sounds like to me that Verna wants more wine.
