Anybody else going?

Chance and I are going on Friday, Jan 22nd. If the weather cooperates, we'll be introducing Aden, Chance's one year old grandson (and my great nephew), to woodworking :D :D :D (Grandpa Chance gets to change the diapers  )

I wish I could make the trip to Columbus, Clay, but, I'm getting very near to finishing my living room re-do--laminate floors, new closet and bedroom doors, new door trim, new baseboard and quarter-round!!! FINALLY. My family says they'll believe it they see it done.

I'm hoping to go on friday also, being layed off gives me plenty of time. But I have some work lined up so if I can work I may have to skip the show.

Verna,

The woodworking show was fun but not too different than when it used to be in Detroit - except that Lee Valley was there. The really fun part was the in-store show at Woodwerks a few miles away. Truth to tell if I had to choose between the two I would skip the big show and go to the store. Believe it or nor prices at the store were substantially less! We has seven people go and spent in excess of 2K at the store - once a couple go back to examine a wide belo sander that will increase by almost 5K. maybe a couple hundred spent at the show by the group - mostly at Lee Valley.

A long day but a fun one!

Well, all three of us enjoyed the woodworking show, but Aden was just plain tuckered out :D :D :D Now, remember that he is just 13 1/2 months old, but he walked about 3 aisles of the show.

I picked him up and took him over by some hardwood. I gently rubbed my hand over each piece, saying the name of the wood. Then I let him close enough to touch and he gently moved his hand over it. Of course, right now, the name for everything is "uhg". (I did teach him a new word yesterday.....IU...... , and he can say it very well  )

No large purchases--just some floam brushes, nitrile gloves, some quick hose clamps.

An enjoyable day with my brother and his grandson
