I finished the cradle for my daughter and before she actually needed it. :D

All parts except the knobs are cherry. I bought some cabinet knobs made of some mystery hardwood and stained them to match as best I could. Finish is shellac. The plans are the same ones Dewayne used to build the cradles for his twins, but modified slightly.

Here are a couple of pics

And finally, the cradle in use with Grandmom (LOML) watching Little Joe. If you saw his dad, Joe, you'd know why we call him Little Joe. :D

Well done - the cherry looks great and your workmanship is top notch. I am sure it will be used for generations to come!

Nice. Those the plans Rockler sells? I think that's where I got the originals I've modified through the years. When in service portability was a real problem, and even civilians would rather store the thing knocked down. Went with threaded inserts in the rails and connector bolts through the ends. Tusk tenons on the stretcher.

For known twins, make it a width and a half, and they seem quite comfortable. They're used to a little crowding, after all.

Beautiful work John! That may very well be used by the baby's grandchildren some day.

Yep, them's the ones. http://www.plansnow.com/cradle.html Tusk tenons and all. Rockler has the plans for the first swinger I ever built, with one of my navigators. His was solid sides birdseye!

I built a lot of cradles with and for other GIs. Prime breeding age, after all.

Great job, John Boy.

Yep, that's Woodsmith. I see a lot of cradles made form that issue. Including the one I build. :D
