In our family, Chance spear-headed a drive (meaning getting financial backing from siblings
) to get our father a Wii for Christmas.
Now, mind you, Daddy will be 80 years young in April. He still bowls on two bowling leagues, but he does get a bit bored in the winter when he can't get outside as often.
Daddy had played the bowling Wii at Chance's house earlier this year and really, really enjoyed it. But he wouldn't pay the $199 for the Wii for himself.
But, Daddy poo-poo'd the Wii when he saw it in the box under the Christmas tree. "I'm not going to hook that thing up!!!!" in the normal gruff Daddy voice. OK, fine....Chance offered to hook it up......"I don't want that thing hooked up!!!!", again in the normal gruff Daddy voice.....
So, we left Daddy's house with the Wii still in the box on Christmas Eve.
Yesterday, Daddy called Chance asking specific questions, because Daddy had been surfing the Internet getting most of his questions answered
Then Chance and Andrew went down and helped Daddy hook the rest of the Wii up.
Well, today Daddy and his wife played bowling, golf and tennis.....and more than once
So, I have to hand it to Chance--you did good getting Daddy a Wii--it'll help keep him busy and more active this winter
