There was this weasel that showed up...

Image

It was Gina the weasel who showed up after a wild night of 'paying Barry a visit.'

She was returned to the ranch in the back of a cruiser, reeking of turtle tracks ice cream, humming 'Copacabana.' Apparently, she had been accused of 'stalking' the famous singer. There is a court date in her future. Bad weasel.

Oh, and the guy in the photo is PK. He came over to the shop to have me work on some teak for a 'shift handle' for his sailboat. I didn't realize that sailboats had manual transmissions, but, hey, you learn something new every day.

It looks like a fine time was had by all...

LOML (who sailed the Atlantic in a tall ship in 1992) gets very defensive when it comes to sailboats so I won't say anything witty like "a motor on a sailboat seems a bit like the turtle in the bugs bunny cartoons having a jet pack"... besides she says a motor is sometimes "necessary to get to the yacht club before it closes" (whatever that means...)

Looks like you guys had a great time... I just have one question... how in the world did your wife talk you into letting her put a washer and drier in your shop?!! I'll bet the washer works great to vibrate the bubbles out of a finish :)

That Shinto Rasp must be awfully loud to require ear muffs. Glad Gina made it home.

I think it was Tom who had to convince her that he could put his shop in her laundry room. :D :D

BTW, are the blades still sharp?

Jeff -

Yes and Yes... Rhonda conceded years ago... every so often, I have to build her a project to show my appreciation.

And, yes, the blades are still sharp - for now. We were working with very small pieces... :D

For those of you that have not been to TT's, let me tell you that the weasel ranch is one impressive operation. It has to be the largest in Pinellas County :-D

Actually the thing the engine gets used for most is getting into and out of slips and docks and running on the Intracoastal Waterway. I grew up sailing boats into docks but it is not something that is done often now. I can imagine the look on a dockmasters face if I told him I was going to sail a 40', 11 ton boat into his dock :-D

I'd be loading the second barrel if you tried to sail into my dock!! ;)

For me, I always sailed up to docks. ;)

Now, I did catch some heat for engaging in sculling races a couple times.

I can guarrantee that she was using the motor to get in for a gin and tonic (or 4)... I only got to sail with her and her Dad a few times (they had a 31 foot westerly longbow) All I'll say is that sailing is a darned lot of work!!!

But not to hijack this thread... Tom, nice looking flag box!
