Hey John,

Dark side?

As I remember, the evil empire (based in nearby Redmond, Wa) prefers the PC.

I'd rather suggest that you've seen the light.

Tom

I have 5 PCs in my house, and that is what I supply to customers, but recently bought an iMac myself. I am a software programmer at heart, and wanted to fiddle around with creating a couple of iPhone apps. Still trying to figure things out, but have managed to put 'Hello World' on my iPhone. I have managed to lock up the iMac, but that might just be me; I have a talent for messing up software, and that is probably why I am good at customer acceptance testing on software applications. Biggest problem I see is there there still is a lack in the number of applications available for the iMac compared to to a PC. That is probably not much of a problem for most people, and there is the ability to use boot camp and boot into Windows, or use VMware to run a Windows session within the Mac OS.

JohnT,
sounds great on this end. I'm sure you'll enjoy it for a long time!

My household's 'next' family computer is going to be a Mac, not sure if it will be a New mac of course, but there's a shop which sells refurbished ones 'near' here (reasonable driving distance). This will primarily be my youngest son's school computer (we home school) and while there may not be as many apps for the mac OS, when it comes to educational materials there are plenty available.
