Legiouellosis - Those of us old enough to have been paying attention to the news 30 years ago have heard of Legionnaires Disease. After that I don't recall hearing much about it or maybe I just wasn't paying attention.

But it is alive and well and now has My attention. My daughter Deb, Her Husband Jeff, and 13 year old son two weeks ago took a driving vac travailing from There home near La Plata MD to Disney World and back. Shortly after returning home Debbie became ill but didn't give it a lot of thought. Two days later She was hospitalized locally and later that day transferred by copter to a DC hosp. Her illness has now been diagnosed as Legionnaires Disease.

Where She contacted it at is hard to say. Could have been from there home or most likely was somewhere on Vac. Most likely came from an air conditioning system is some building but so far they can't say anything for sure.

Last evening the Dr said there there was very little chance She wold survive more than a few more hours but She is still going thanks to some great Doctors, Nurses and a lot of prayer. At this time doctors say She still has slim chance of recovering.

Two reasons for this post. First is obvious She is in need of a lot of prayer.

Second is a warning. It is out there and can under some, but not all, circumstances be a very serious illness. For Her She was sick and started getting chest congestion and it advanced rapidly to the critical stage with a pneumonia type infection.

Thank You for listing, Bob

Bob, please let me know if I can do anything to help. Which hospital did they take her to in D.C.?Probably Georgetown or Washington Hospital Center. Either one is good, Georgetown is exceptional. Where do they live?

Let me know how I can help.

thanks Larry. they took Her to WHC. They live put of Lusby on the water. If I am correct La Plata is the nearest large town but been some time since I visited there and was lost most of the time so can't really say. But thinks for the offer of help but at this point prayer is the only help She can use.

Bob o Boy, this just isn't fair, phone just rang while writing this and was Sis, had just came home and found Hus dead.

Bob

I am saddened by this news, I am so so sorry Bob.

I hope the time you ahve with your daughter now will be full and rewarding. May the times be of quality and substance.

May the God of peace himself make you holy in every way. And may your whole being-spirit, soul, and body-remain blameless when our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, appears.

Bob, I don't know what to say. Just know that The Lord will not give you more than you, or your family can handle.

Lusby is about an hour away in Calvert County. One of the stores I work is in Lusby.

Keep us posted. We're here for you.

Prayers from this side of the pond as well Bob. I pray that she confounds all the Doctor's dire expectations.

Oh Bob

What these guys said goes for me too. We have some awesome prayer warriors on this list. You have people close by who are willing to help.

I am so sorry to hear of this Bob. I pray she pulls though.

As of today, Wed, Deb is slowly improving. Still very ill and remains heavily sedated and on life support. Her numbers started improving late Mon night and have moving steadily in the right direction since then.

Thank You all from bottom of My Heart for all Your thoughts, prayers and messages of concern. Prayer is so powerful!!!

Bob
