Dennis - Autolisp?

I wish I had a dollar for every time I spent looking for a closing parenthesis in the old days. Nowadays they have these whiz bang compilers that find yer mistakes for you.

I gave it up though and only do lisp routines when forced.

I have a hard time with English. No one understands me!

I missed the Vietnamese Classes they wanted me to reup. Ha! Went there and learned enough by OJT.

Did know some Japanese back inthe '60's when I was there for two years.

Picked up some Hispanic while growing up in New Mexico.

And yes Latin in HS. Have you ever heard Latin with Texas Twang?

The computer stuff, yes I actually did Fortan way back there. Now I call it machine language, not Pascal or C or Delphi.

Picked up quite a bit Southern during the last 25 years. My brothers tell me I have an accent now.
Learned very little French in HS.
Of necessity I've learned a few Spanish words at work.

HTML and CSS
Basic
DOS
And I want to learn some Visual Basic.

I learned some unknown language in one quick lesson when I hit my thumb with a hammer once. Seems to have integrated incantations coupled with dancing around waving your arms though...

Ray, maybe you can help me with a bit of true English. ;)

So, I was watching a British movie last night and need some translation help.

In "True" English, what's a Lolly and what's a Nunce?

This all begs the question... this site is mostly made up of US members... if this were a German or French or Chinese or English site would the answers be different... in other words would there be more multi-lingual members?

.

A 'Nonce' is a derogatory term for a Homosexual

'Lolly' depends on the context ... it could be a slang for money

or it could be short for Lollypop or Icelolly

Friend of mine from South Carolina went to Chicksands and learned the truth of the saying. They kept calling him a "Yank."

Me too.

Also studied Latin and French for a few years and can speak a little Yankee when I have too. Also lived in Texas a number of years and picked up some of the local language.
