I've found there are some surprising answers to this question

I speak English, some Spanish (which gets better as the week of vacation in Cancun gets towards the end  ), some Computerareze, Woodworking and Telephany.

How's about you guys? Just curious.

English here, with a lot of redneck thrown in...

I need to get back to my roots, and learn to speak my heritage language of love. yes, that is FRENCH. Thinking about that for the last couple of months. The Roseta Stone advertisements have me thinking quite seriously.

Thankfully, I've managed to forget everything I learned at the Army's Vietnamese Language Institute at Ft. Bliss.

Jeez Chuck - there's another poor soul on this board who was subjected to Fortran??

Around here we speak Michigander and some YouPer (U.P.er) thrown in. My son says I speak fluent Portuguese in the shop but I say I never studied a word of it.

After being newlyweds for 27 years I am learning to speak "woman". Not only that I have almost mastered the "silent" language they have. Those thoughts you are supposed to catch without being told - that sort of thing. And their questions within questions. They ask you one question but the one they were thinking of really was something else entirely. (just say what you want!)

But listening to my Mother-in-Law and my wife hold a conversation, I am immediately left in the dust.

But can you forget Bliss? Went to play bare-base games at Biggs, near by, and began to rethink calling San Angelo the boil on the buttocks of the world.

Thought you green guys went to Monterey, though back then they needed a bunch of languages, so things weren't as concentrated.

I did Russian in blue.

German in college, of which I remember only the Hail Mary.

Latin in HS, which allows me to read mottos on coats of arms and library lintels.

I think Chinese and others were at Monterrey. Bliss was hel l on earth in August but it wasn't so dangerous in those days to spend your weekends in Juarez. How I wish it were Monterrey. I took basics at Ft Ord in sight of the city and the ocean. Beautiful landscape.
