Mele Kalikmaka and Hau 'oli Makahiki Hou!

Did dinner different this Year for the first time in 34 Christmas's together. We had smoked baby back ribs (they were on Sale, turkeys were $45.00-$55.00 and a simple small butterball breast was $24.00) rubbed with spices and brown sugar used apple wood for the smoke. home made pumpkin pie that cost more than store bought, but we did it together with home made whipped cream. corn on the cob and Brussel sprouts. whipped potatoes 50/50 russets and new whites salt butter 50/50 milk and cream (got to use up the cream) We watched, It's a Wonderful life during dinner. Yes we still shed some tears as Harry said " to George the richest man in town" by "Look daddy Teachers says every time a bell rings and angle gets his wings" then George understands. "No Man is a Failure Who Has Friends"

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I have never had a pumpkin pie store made or in a restaurant that was as good as what my wife makes. Also I have never had bread any better than what the wife bakes.Only problem she doesn't bake enough to keep me happy.

Not my favorite either, my wife loves them. I found if you boil them to death, then cover in either mayo or Italian dressing they go down okay :-D

Turkey Leftovers reminds of the scenes in Forrest Gump; Turkey & rice /noodle/vegetables/beans/spicy/potatoes/ soup(s), turkey kabobs, turkey sandwiches, turkey pastrami, turkey jerky, turkey Tetrazzini, turkey enchiladas, Turkey Salad, Turkey Casserole, Turkey Pot Pie , Kung Pao Turkey, Turkey Chili, Turkey Broth, Turkey Shepherd's Pie ... that's about all I go to say on turkey.

After that I'm good until mid to late 2024 on having turkey

Actually I hate throwing food away.

It bothers me doing it. The waste bothers me

We quit eating turkey on Thanksgiving some years back. It's just the two of us so we always now get a couple of nice lobsters. :D :D

Wasting food always bothers me too. My Mom always said wasting food was a sin and it stuck with me.
