Every time I make an ice box I end up cutting my thumb making the rebate cuts? I use a wooden push block and still end up having to get stitches. This time it was ten stitches.

Hey Lew,

Maybe it's time to take up the hand tools. That's always been my plan for when I'm no longer reliable around the machines.

They do take practice, but I rather like making mock ups out of cheap construction lumber in order to hone the muscle motor skills before I take on the expensive stock.

Cheers,
Tom

:-) When you get to my age the "body" isn't capable any longer, so the "machines" are necessary. :-) How is that for justification?? :-)
...lew...PS "speed" is the answer to that burning on the end grain on the 1/4 ply. I just have to really push it through FAST. Couldn't
do it fast enough on the radial arm saw. Switched to the small table saw and no problem. Pictures later .

Mango , refrigerators do not meet pre-1840 time line for rendezvous. My ice box design allows me to use the melted ice for clean drinking water as well as keeping the milk, cheese, meat and other items cold. As well as lifting it so I don't have to bend over to get items in and out.I'll post some pictures as soon as I get it finished, I did not have as much varnish as I thought so I have to wait until I get more to finish it.
