I would like it very much if there were any more users out there. It's getting very lonely since not very many users posting. So why don't more of you start. Talk about anything. If you have started a new project, tell us about it. It doesn't have to be perfect unless it's me because everything I make is perfect. :-D

Still no word from my wife. Her daughter is still not letting me talk to her. The few times I have been able to talk to her, she seems to be getting worse. I did get to see her for about 5 minutes the other day when I had to take money up to her for a dental appointment. Thank you all so much for your prayers.

We are all praying for your situation. As to why there aren't many people posting I believe the sad fact is too many of us aren't doing as much woodworking as we used to, and are distracted by the current social, and political situations. We truly need to get back into doing what we like to do and not worry about what is going on around us. We need to pay more attention to what we can and are doing. As for myself the wife decided I should make chess sets for all of the kids. (youngest is 43). So I am in the process of making 128 chess pieces and four chess boards/boxes. I am using maple and cherry cut offs that I get for fire wood.So I am doing a lot of glueing up

I check in here everyday but there hasn't been much going on for quite a while.
I'm staying busy. But it's the same stuff you guys have seen from me for years. Cannon carriages. A lot of them.
I just sold my last Napoleon. It's on its way to Switzerland.
So I also just started two more. I can post pictures but you have seen it all before. Don't want to bore anyone.

Making two more of these.

I posted final pictures of my last big carriage build and never got a single comment. Just kind of tells me that I might have over done it in the past with the same stuff.
It can be seen here.

There is hardly any of us left on this forum but some body is looking at it. Just don't know who.

My huge Alamo build now has 56,870 hits. Some body is out there.

I guess I haven't replied to your cannon work because I am overwhelmed by your work. It is so far above my forging ability.I am never bored by it. just overwhelmed.

ZULU, I'm certainly not bored with your work! It's just a little overwhelming to me! I certainly couldn't build anything to even come close to what you do. PLEASE don't stop posting what you do!

Two or three things with me, No particular needs for a project, the temperature in the garage/shop, and a "help a friend with a machine project". So I look at the site every morning and depart. Nothing to do but read some books after checking half a doz. other sites. Sure is monotonous. :-)

As for me we had to move into a different house, my wife (Deb) can no longer do stairs making my shop very inconvenient.
We’re moving from Chicago metro to Tulsa OK area in July so starting to pack up

Ok, I'll bite.
I am one of the "original" old timers here, joined in 1999. Does anyone remember the Do'h awards?? I got awarded the second one.
I do not see many if any replies from members back then. Remember Jim Mattson? There were many others back then that don't post anymore. This board was burning back then.
I was an Electrical Engineer for the military and Nasa until I retired 3 years, kept me plenty busy, shop time when I had the time.
I mainly read posts, don't post much because I am certainly not up to all you guys' quality of woodworking, basically made for me, wife and family wants and needs.
I mentioned I retired just 3 years ago, moved from Ohio to northern Wisconsin, in the middle of a national forest. Among other ailments I've developed respiratory problems, and the old timers favorite, my hands shake. Really don't trust myself in the shop anymore.
Advice to anyone that is still working, DON'T RETIRE, I was fine before I did!

Please keep posting, I'll sit back and enjoy, and make fun of Don every once in a while.

Sean

Well Sean you have only a bit less than a year on me here and I keep checking every day. As in the post above yours, I just don't have any thing that wants built and it's cold in the shop/garage. I have the feeling that woodworking as a hobby is dying thing. No new blood in sight. A curse on all these electronic GAMES. ( :-) From a retired Electronic engineer )

PS Just look at the "Joined" dates on all the above. :-)

I just got to darn old to do anything. Or maybe it's just no ambition. My last post here was last December on Zulu's Alamo cannon. I find it difficult to do anything in the winter the last few years. Too cold. Hopefully when the weather warms up I will get out to the shop and finish the half built rocking chair planter that my Debbie wants done.

I'm with you Paul, poor bones can't warm up like they used too, heating a two-car garage gets too expensive.
