Would make a lot of "snow ice creme" ( don't use the yellow snow) but you already knew that.

I made three gallons of Ice cream yesterday. I use a vanilia ice cream recipe , but use equal amounts of maple syrup and honey instead of sugar when I was growing up on a farm we used maple syrup and honey because we could not afford to buy chocolate or carmel syrup for the ice cream . Now I am rich enough to be able to use maple syrup and honey!.I had set five gallon jugs of water out to freeze last week. but with the snow I did not need to use it. My dog is pretty good at keeping the yellow snow away from the side walk and patio.

It is 28 here now (noon) and freezing rain and expected to get more/worse.
Nothing to the northern tier but to us is plenty enought.

what does Zulu have now.

Zulu

We were in Spring (north Houston) approx 1985 and had very hard freeze.
Lots of folks had their pipes in the attic freeze so no water and some had the
pipes burst.

So beware.

It's supposed to get to 8 or 9 here (hill country)

Stay Warm

For those of you who are in areas were it seldom freezes ,running water does not freeze. Let your water run a small but steady amount and the pipes won't freeze.

we have the opposite issue that you do. Here its the summers that are brutal. Being retired is a plus so i can get to the shop early morning 2am-4am and get some work in until it becomes to hot to work usually around 10am.

Fall Winters and Spring are nice here.

Supposed to have 7 to 8 hours of snow tonight. Snow? Really? In Houston?
Down to 18 degrees tonight and 12 degrees tomorrow night.
Unbelievable! This just doesn't happen here. First time in decades.
This stinks!

Enjoy the change and appreciate the normal
Will be beautiful so take pic's and relax.

And find the winter coats for a couple of hours in the snow.

We are forecast for snow with 3 to 5 degrees.
And my drive was is solid ice so we are going nowhere.
And my propane is low.

If you hear gunshots is probably tree limbs breaking.

We feel your pain, it is going to get into the mid 60's tonight. That is sea level upcountry will be in the low 50's. it snowed on Haleakala 2 weeks ago.

QUESTION: why is the fire wood stored so far from the house.

You guys will laugh at me but this stuff is as rare as hens teeth around here.
About 1". It certainly will absolutely cripple the city of Houston. The vast majority do not have the slightest idea how to drive in it.
Businesses are closed, no school.
14 degrees. Unheard of.
Dripped the water faucets a little all night. No problems so far.
14 degrees again tonight. Won't get above freezing until tomorrow afternoon and then only for a little while.

Houston
The great white out of 2021!
