Hey Folks,

It's Gravenstein season again. This year we finally got enough large beautiful, unblemished apples to make a pi. Unfortunately, our oven is on the fritz and has been for six weeks an will be for another two while we wait for parts.

Since Gravensteins are not known for keeping well, I asked the pastry shop downstairs if we could use their oven after hours. They were nice enough to say yes, so now we have this years pie. I'll be sure to share with the folks downstairs, but for now here is this year's entry.

Tom
It is unfair to show the Gravenstein pie when
that apple is not very avaiable here in Texas.
Beautiful work.

Thanks
Duan

I am not experienced with that variety of apples. I like Macintosh or Western Reds( the red apple tree on the west side of the drive) for baking. But then all apples are good, as my father said there are three kinds of apples: Good, Better, and Best!
