Nice post. I am embarrassed to say that when we cleaned out my Father in Law's house I got an old vise that he never mounted that he got from his father who never mounted it. It has sat under my bench for over 5 years and I never cleaned it up and painted it like I planned....................oh the shame!

Well, Ron, it's just an opportunity awaiting. I find that, even if I have lots to do, I can grab a project like this and 'not feel badly' about taking the time to bring it to life. It just seems to restore my spirit as much as it restores the tool....AND....it will really be useful in the new lean-to I'm making. There will be a wall bench a low bench and the shave horse in there....plus the chopping block.
Thanks for looking and for the comment!!

You guys should take pictures of the restoration process.
It's fun to show them off and it's fun for us to see them

I love these old tools.
Here are 5 projects I did a few years ago. I posted the full restoration process here on WWA at the time.

You're right, Zulu.....no excuse for not documenting the 'restore' except......the motivation to grab it and start working on it is quick & strong....and happens before the 'idea' to share the experience hits me! I'll try to do better! Maybe change my habit of leaving the phone/camera when headed for the shop!
Again.... your pics of past projects (and I remember you posting them at the time) is inspiring..

Thanks again,

Don
