Glad we ate that pig before this heat wave I heard about on the news. How unusual is this for you guys out there?

Well, comparing the record highs in the past, we've only yet broken one record. What's really the concern is the number of days we've gone with any measurable rainfall. I know, that sounds bizarre coming from the Pacific Northwest, but it's true. We're only five days away from setting a new record. The forests are tinder dry and can be set off with nothing more than a warm sneeze. I really feel for the young gals and guys that are out there trying to contain all the fires.

The smoke and haze in the air from a somewhat large local brush fire (about 50 miles from our place) plus the large forest fires in British Co. is really something. All day there was this odd yellow cast to the sunshine.

Indeed, we really had a great feast on the roast pig seasoned with Kosher salt. (grin) So glad we got to make eye contact.

We have had slightly above average rain here, but just spaced enough to have to keep cutting the grass...........usually in July and August the grass slows down to give us a break, not so far this year.

Hope the fires don't get out of hand out there!

Hey Guys,

I've spent the last week in Alaska with the family, so I guess I've missed the worst of the heat. Sitka, Ak was having a heat wave at 68ยบ and sunny. :-D

It was great to meet you Ron, and friends like Dennis and Robbie are the best part of the biennial event.

Cheers,
Tom
