Due to a demand for money from Photobucket - their new policy - and my refusal to pay them, all of the images that I've posted here have been blocked by Photobucket and will no longer show up in my posts. :x

Sorry 'bout that. I have cancelled my Photobucket acct., and I won't be trying to recreate any existing images using other on-line services.

Gene,
The same thing happened to me last night.

I have lost thousands of pictures on this and a cannon discussion forum I attend.
I'm pretty upset.

I feel like I've been hacked for ransom.
They want $499 a year to restore my pictures!

I have directed a whole lot of folks to WWA to showcase my work. It has been a very useful tool for me.
The thought of going back and restoring all those pictures is too daunting to consider.

I guess I will have to start from scratch after 9 years.

I am going to look into Fototime.

A very mad Zulu

If you don't have copies of your pics on your home PC, you might still be allowed to download your stuff from PB to your pc. You can do this one album at a time by selecting an album and clicking on Download Album. It will create a *.zip file of the entire album contents which you can then download to your pc and extract. At least this way you won't permanently lose any pics, but you would have to find some other way to make them available to other people. I did this last night. It takes a few minutes per album depending on the album size (megabytes). I'd suggest creating a folder structure on your PC for each of the albums you download and extract, since you'll lose any album names/structure you might have set up on PB.

Good luck. :)

As a side note, I think this was a very bad decision by PB. They're going to lose a lot of users, which means loss of advertising revenue. I wouldn't be surprised if they folded up their tent in the next year or so.

I have been ranked #1 on Google for cannon carriages for quite some time.
The reason for this is all the pictures I have posted in this and other forums show up in a Google Images search.
When in Google Images, if you click on on a picture of mine that I posted on WWA, it now takes you to that thread but with no pictures.

You can still see the little picture on Google Images for some reason, but not after you follow it to the forum.

This is happening to folks all over the world right now.
I'm sure it will be the death of Photobucket and could lead to a lot of lawsuits.

No negotiating with terrorist!!

She's right, and what PB did isn't any different than a protection racket/blackmail - pay us or we'll burn your house down. I don't play that game.

Wow! What a bummer!
I noticed that I was having trouble trying to download a photo the other day but, I thought it was just me messing up.
I only have about 200 0r so pictures on PHOTO BUCKET but, I guess they are all gone for all practical purposes.
What a bunch of pirates!!

I just switched to IMGUR for future use. Easier to use, no ads, free. PB is getting a lot of not so nice feedback about this, so they might reverse themselves. I don't care. Buh Bye PB.

I'm OK with that (if I can figure out how to move my photos) BUT, what is to stop IMGUR from doing the same thing eventually?
It is all ATFAB.......Anything for a buck.....The mighty dollar still rules!

You're right about the buck. But it's much the same with other things - "New & Improved" should read "New and Impoverished" .
