FWIW: Some of our community may remember that SAWSTOP inventor/CEO posted quite a lot on this forum many years ago extolling the virtues of his product. The comments to the article are also interesting.

IIRC, the patent expires roughly 2021. Long time to wait to reintroduce REAXX.

The Stopsaw looks like it is very well made and thought out, BUT ...
I would not buy one for two reasons the first of witch is there tacts law suits, trying to make there system required by law, ... (nasty tacts), secondary and minor can't afford a new saw nor am I looking for one.

The back bone of the system (flesh detection) is commonly used in many things, such as touch pads (microwaves ...), the only part that might infringe on there patten is making the blade drop.
At least that is the way I see it.

ya, I followed all the suits and politics. I bought one for the safety and because it is one extremely well made saw.

If I was in the market for a new saw I'd buy one.

Thing is there is nothing wrong with the one I have and all my sleds are made for it. :confused:
